It’s important to frame your statements only in the positive – you don’t want to cause confusion in your brain about how you want it to change.

For example, you would never want to use a statement such as ‘I won’t eat junk food anymore’ because your brain may only take on the most important parts of the statement and thus only be ‘hearing’ ‘eat junk food’, so, instead, talk about a positive thing you will be doing, such as ‘I will enjoy eating healthy foods’.
